Typical starting points
What a first wholesale order usually looks like.
These are reference bands seen across China-source matcha. They help you plan; they are not a price list.
MOQ by grade
Latte / culinary grade often starts around a few kilograms per SKU for a first run; premium whisking grade tends to sit higher because the tencha base is tighter. Private-label tins usually carry a separate print minimum.
What moves FOB
Shade duration and tencha quality, particle size, colour target, organic scope, and pack format (bulk foil vs retail tin vs sachet). A clear target serve narrows the band fast.
Sample step
Samples are prepared to your spec and sent at the buyer's cost (sample price plus shipping). This keeps the first transaction clean and lets you taste the actual lot before committing volume.
First repeatable order
Most buyers start with one grade and one pack, confirm the cup, then add SKUs. A single lot number linking sample to bulk is what makes the second order repeat the first.
